In Burgundy, as you can note, two varieties are dominating, the Chardonnay (yes, there is more white wine than red wine in Burgundy !) and the Pinot Noir. Aligoté and Gamay are also included in the main Burgundians varieties.
Burgundy is the cradle of these four varieties. The clay-limestone soils, most common soils here, allow to those varieties to express themselve in an original and authentically manner.
The Chardonnay and the Pinot Noir cultured in Burgundy thus offer expressions of a unique minerality in the world.
