In Burgundy, two grape varieties dominate: Chardonnay (yes… there are more white wines than red wines in our region!). Aligoté and Gamay are also among the main Burgundy grape varieties.
Burgundy is the cradle of origin of these 4 grape varieties. Clay and limestone soils, the most common soil types here, allow these grape varieties to express themselves in an original and authentic way.
Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown in Burgundy thus offer expressions of a unique minerality in the world.
