Description Corton-Charlemagne

Estate

Founded in 1731, Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy's oldest and most prestigious estates. Located in Beaune, it owns an extensive vineyard portfolio including several Grand Crus. The family combines traditional know-how with modern techniques.

Vineyard

The Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru vineyard lies in the communes of Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses, on the renowned Corton hill. South-west exposure and marl-limestone soils provide ideal conditions for growing Chardonnay.

Wine

This 2019 Corton-Charlemagne reflects the complexity and minerality of the Grand Cru. It's a structured and refined white wine with great aging potential. Rated 94/100 by Robert Parker, it’s recognized for its purity and balance.

Vintage

The 2019 vintage in Burgundy is characterized by ripeness and balance. Despite warm weather, white wines maintain good tension and freshness. This year produced expressive and concentrated wines.

Vinification & Aging

Hand-harvested grapes are gently pressed before fermentation in oak barrels. The wine is aged for 12 to 14 months on fine lees, with a moderate use of new oak to preserve terroir expression.

Serve between 12 to 14°C in a Burgundy white wine glass. Decant if young to enhance aromatic expression.

Aging

Can age for 10 to 15 years or more under proper cellar conditions.
