Estate

Established in Ribeauvillé since 1626, Domaine Trimbach is a historical pillar of Alsace winemaking. Today, the 12th generation of the Trimbach family continues its legacy. The estate is known for its dry, precise wines that express varietal character with finesse. Their philosophy is rooted in tradition, passed down over centuries. Trimbach’s wines are appreciated worldwide for their consistency and elegance.

Vineyard

The vineyards lie on marl-limestone and clay-limestone soils, typical of the Alsace region. These soils lend the Gewurztraminer grape its aromatic depth and balanced structure. Alsace’s semi-continental climate, with warm summers and long autumns, promotes optimal ripeness. The estate selects plots carefully to enhance the variety’s characteristics. Sustainable vineyard practices are followed.

Wine

The 2017 Gewurztraminer from Domaine Trimbach is a dry white wine with expressive aromatics. It captures the full spectrum of the variety with clarity and poise. Its gastronomic potential is vast, pairing well with spicy and Asian cuisines. Light-bodied and fresh, it adheres to the Trimbach style of precision and purity. The finish is clean with no residual sugar.

Vintage

2017 was a balanced vintage in Alsace, marked by early harvests and very good grape ripeness. Weather conditions allowed for healthy, aromatic fruit. Gewurztraminer from this year shows vibrant aromatics without heaviness. The wines exhibit clarity and a solid aging potential. This vintage brings elegance and length on the palate.

Vinification & Aging

Grapes are hand-harvested to ensure quality. Fermentation is slow in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures. No malolactic fermentation is performed to preserve acidity. The wine is aged on fine lees for added complexity. Light filtration is done prior to bottling.
