    Description Jasnières "Les Rosiers" Sec Tendre

    Estate

    Domaine de Bellivière is a family-owned estate founded in 1995 by Éric and Christine Nicolas, located in Lhomme, Sarthe. Renowned for its Chenin-based whites, the estate is fully biodynamic. Vines are cultivated with great respect for nature; harvests are manual. The estate focuses on terroir-driven, low-intervention wines. Today, it is managed by the next generation of the family.

    Vineyard

    Located in the Loire Valley, the Jasnières vineyard lies on flinty clay-limestone slopes. The temperate climate with continental influences enables optimal Chenin ripening. Vines average 30-50 years old and are farmed biodynamically. Yields are low, ensuring concentrated and high-quality grapes.

    Wine

    This 2020 Jasnières from Domaine de Bellivière showcases Chenin’s finesse on flinty soil. It is a dry white with a silky texture and complex aromatic profile. Typical minerality and tension are balanced by ripe fruit. A pure and elegant expression of Jasnières. Rated 91/100 by La Revue du Vin de France.

    Vintage

    The 2020 vintage experienced a hot, dry summer followed by ideal harvest conditions. It resulted in precise, well-balanced, and concentrated whites. The Chenins from the estate show harmony between acidity and richness. A fine and controlled expression of a sunny vintage.

    Vinification & Aging

    Grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted, then gently pressed. Indigenous yeasts conduct fermentation in oak barrels. The wine ages for about 12 months on fine lees without stirring. No additives are used except a minimal amount of sulfur. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
